Your audio is levelled and optimised for the physical limits of a lathe-cut groove.
Each side is cut in real time, visually checked, cleaned and securely packaged.
Precision on every cut
Varipitch continuously adjusts the groove spacing as the music plays. Quiet or simple passages can use tighter spacing, while louder, bass-heavy or more complex sections are given extra room.
We use it because it makes better use of the recordable area, helps reduce the risk of neighbouring grooves colliding, and lets us preserve more level and bass wherever the programme allows. For long LP sides, the final achievable level still depends on the audio, so very loud or bass-heavy material may need a shorter running time.
Turnaround
Standard: normally 7–14 working days after your audio is approved.
Priority: available when production capacity allows.
Larger quantities and complex projects are confirmed after we have checked the programme.
Best audio results
WAV, AIFF or FLAC is preferred. High-quality MP3 or M4A can also be accepted.
Avoid clipped or excessively limited masters. Very wide low frequencies may be centred and extreme top end may be controlled for a safer, cleaner groove.

Questions answered
Every record is cut individually in real time, directly into a durable plastic disc. We do not cut onto lacquer and the finished record is designed to be as durable as a normal record when handled and stored correctly. Because it is a first-generation cut made directly from your supplied audio, the sound can sometimes have greater immediacy and detail than a mass-produced copy, although the final result always depends on the source audio, mastering and playback equipment. Small variations are a natural part of the individual cutting process.
Level depends on playing time, bass content, stereo width and the condition of the supplied master. Shorter sides generally allow a louder cut.
Longer sides require tighter groove spacing. Varipitch helps use the space efficiently, but very loud or bass-heavy programmes may still need reduced level or shorter duration.
Only when the customer owns the rights or has permission to reproduce the recording. The order form requires confirmation of this.
WAV, AIFF or FLAC is preferred. MP3 and M4A are accepted when no lossless master is available.
We inspect every disc, but lathe cutting is a handcrafted process, so tiny visual or sonic variations can occur between copies.
Your files are stored on the order server and used only to assess and produce your record. They are not shared with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
Uploaded audio should be removed after the order is completed and any agreed remake period has passed. Keep your own master copy at all times.
Price and suitability remain subject to audio review. We will contact you if the duration, level or content needs adjustment before production.
